While 2013 was an artful dance with no stepping on the toes, 2014 kept us on our toes. It included a winter of drought, a mild rainy spring and an earthquake as harvest got going. Each of these required an informed reaction as explained below. It takes resilience to succeed in this industry. That proved true for everyone in 2014. Still, as the grapes were harvested the words were; excellent, beautiful, exciting…another great year!

“The stunning 2013 Eternity Proprietary Red wine is obviously a Bordeaux blend. It reveals unsmoked cigar tobacco and licorice, Christmas fruitcake, cedar wood and plenty of blackberry and cassis fruit along with a full‐bodied palate. The oak is well‐disguised by the wine’s lavish concentration and intensity. It should drink beautifully for another 20+ years.”

The 2013 Wild Iris, first shows its delicate side with an initial nose of fresh cut cassis buds and small white flowers. It then opens to Myer lemon and kumquat aromas with light spicy notes of white pepper and elusive vanilla-ginger. In the mouth enjoy a smooth balance of creaminess and crispness reminiscent of a ripe Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc. The 2013 Iris is a very complex wine leaving you with a long finish of mango and passion fruit. Enjoy!
